Habourside South

The new mixed-use building in PNG aims to achieve EDGE certification

Location : Port Moresby, Papua New Guinea

The development of Harbourside South in Port Moresby's Down Town area is an exciting addition to the vibrant Precinct that includes Harbourside East and West. This project is being carried out by Harbourside Development Limited, a joint venture between Steamships and the PNG Sustainable Development Fund. Once completed, Harbourside South will offer a panoramic view of Fairfax Harbour and provide a range of amenities, including leisure, retail, commercial, and residential spaces. The development will also feature a safe pedestrian transit point connecting Champions Parade and Stanley Esplanade via an overhead walkway.

Sustainahaus' appointment as the EDGE Auditor during both the design and final stages of this project highlights the commitment to incorporating environmental sustainability and resource efficiency into the development. This ensures that Harbourside South not only meets local building regulations but also aligns with international green building certification standards like EDGE (Excellence in Design for Greater Efficiencies). By engaging Sustainahaus, the project demonstrates its dedication to sustainable and eco-friendly building practices in Papua New Guinea.
