We can support you throughout the Earthcheck Design certification process.

EarthCheck Design certified buildings leave a legacy of sustainability, health and community in the places they’re built. EarthCheck award-winning Building Planning and Design Standard (BPDS) provides guidelines, tools and indicators to assist designers, architects and developers in the planning and design phase of buildings.

The science-based approach helps clients benchmark and certify projects including tourism, commercial, retail, residential, and small mixed-use developments. Early assessment helps minimise sustainability risks and ensures sustainable outcomes, while still achieving project objectives.

Our Project

Sustainahaus is currently managing an EarthCheck Design project for a client in the Bogor area. This project applies the EarthCheck Building Planning and Design Standard (BPDS), an internationally recognized framework that ensures developments are planned, designed, and constructed in line with the highest standards of environmental sustainability and social responsibility.

By working with a global leader in luxury hospitality with a strong sustainability vision, Sustainahaus supports the integration of green building practices, climate resilience, and sustainable design principles into the project. The Bogor development will not only embody luxury and wellness but also prioritize energy efficiency, water conservation, waste management, and community engagement, setting a benchmark for sustainable hospitality projects in Indonesia.

The process

EarthCheck BPDS ensures projects that achieve certification are designed to meet or exceed best practice performance benchmarks for the building type and location. EarthCheck Design certified projects follow these phases.

Achievements

The BPDS is designed as a performance-focused tool, ensuring that certified projects not only meet but often exceed the best practice benchmarks for their specific building type and location.

To award certification, EarthCheck requires projects to meet all of the mandatory criteria, and a minimum of 170 credits in the Key Performance Areas. Three certification levels are available:

  • EarthCheck Design Silver Certified (170-209 credits required): The project meets or exceeds best practice performance benchmarks and delivers positive outcomes in several Key Performance Areas.

  • EarthCheck Design Gold Certified (210-249 credits required): The project must improve more than 10% beyond all Regional Leader performance benchmarks, and credits must be achieved in at least 7 Key Performance Areas.

  • EarthCheck Design Platinum Certified (250+ credits required): The project must improve move than 20% beyond all Regional Leader performance benchmarks, and credits must be achieved in all 10 Key Performance Areas.
