As part of Ascott’s 2018 Memorandum of Understanding with the International Finance Corporation (IFC), Ascott Jakarta and Somerset Grand Citra successfully achieved EDGE certification in late 2020. Ascott Group’s in-house EDGE Expert appointed Sustainahaus to provide EDGE Auditor services for post-construction and final certification using EDGE v2.1.5. Located in Jakarta’s Kebon Kacang district, Ascott Jakarta is a 26-storey serviced apartment with 204 units spanning over 40,000 sqm and incorporates passive design strategies and high-efficiency systems, including optimised window-to-wall ratios, high-COP air conditioning, and energy-efficient lighting, resulting in a 26% reduction in energy use. Water-efficient fixtures, such as low-flow showerheads and dual-flush water closets, deliver over 35% water savings. The long-term preservation of building materials has contributed to more than 60% embodied energy savings, demonstrating a strong commitment to resource efficiency and sustainable building performance.
