Located in Surabaya, Indonesia, the new Siloam Hospitals project demonstrates the healthcare group’s commitment to integrating sustainability into its future developments. Sustainahaus supported the project through comprehensive cost-benefit and gap analysis to evaluate the feasibility of achieving EDGE (Excellence in Design for Greater Efficiencies) and GREENSHIP certifications, assessing both the financial viability and environmental impact of incorporating green building strategies. The analysis covered key features such as double low-E glazing, heat pump water heaters, rooftop solar photovoltaic systems, and rainwater harvesting, highlighting their potential to reduce operational costs while enhancing overall building performance. Based on these findings, Sustainahaus provided strategic recommendations to support the project’s target of attaining at least EDGE certification and GREENSHIP Gold level, reinforcing Siloam Hospitals’ commitment to resource efficiency, environmental responsibility, and occupant well-being.
